What do I need to do when I register in order to be entered into sweepstakes?

The first thing you need to do is verify your email address by clicking on the link we send you; if the email we send you contains a password instead if a link, then logging in using that password will also verify your email address. Secondly, make sure that cookies are enabled in your browser so that we are able to recognise you when you visit a retailer's website. We also strongly recommend you reaffirm your acceptance of our terms and conditions when you first login to our website.
 
Thereafter, all you need to do is to make sure that you do all of your online shopping at participating retailers, by clicking on the links on the "Browse Retailers" page.

What do I do if the email telling me my password or asking me to confirm my email address does not arrive?

Firstly we ask you to wait a couple of minutes in case the email is simply held up, then please check your junk mail folder in case the email has been marked as spam.
 
However, if the email has still not arrived then please click on the login assistance link on the login page and we will send you another email.

Can my order at a participating retailer still be entered into a prize draw if I completed my purchase on a different device which had not logged in to the Lucky Checkout Club?

Possibly, this depends on which retailer you shopped with. Please send us details of your purchase via the contact page on our website, including the retailer's website address, the amount spent and order number if known, plus the date and approximate time that you made your purchase. If your order can be entered into the prize draw, then we will reply to your message asking you to email us proof of your purchase.

I clicked on a retailer's profile but see no mention of the Lucky Checkout Club on their website - will I still be entered into the prize draws?

Under normal circumstances, if you click through to a retailer's website from their profile on the "Browse Retailers" page, and complete your purchase in the same session (ie. without leaving their website), then you will be entered into our prize draw if you are eligible (only UK residents are currently eligible). Conversely, as a general rule, if you don't see the Lucky Checkout widget and if you didn't click straight through from our site then you probably won't be entered into our prize draw.
 
If you do not see the Lucky Checkout widget when you are shopping at a retailer's website, that does not mean you won't be entered into our prize draw, since for some retailers our little code widget may not remind you about our prize draws at all - thus, the important thing is that you start your shopping by clicking on the link on the "Browse Retailers" page. Remember also that you may not see any references to the Lucky Checkout Club until you have started your shopping and added something to your shopping basket.
 
In addition, if you are using a very old or obscure browser (eg. MSIE version 6) then it may not be compatible with the Lucky Checkout code widget so please upgrade your browser. Finally, if you are connecting from overseas then please make sure you have logged in to your Lucky Checkout account because currently only UK residents are eligible to enter our sweepstakes.

Will I still be entered into the prize draw if I have a discount code or other special offer from the retailer?

As far as the Lucky Checkout Club is concerned, you can enjoy as many discounts, promotions and special offers as you like. It is therefore very much up to the retailer to decide whether you should be entered into a Lucky Checkout prize draw when you have a discount code, and you should contact them if unsure. However most retailers will probably continue to enter you into our prize draws even when they have other special promotions, subject to the following constraints:
 
If your cashback or discount comes via a third-party website, then you may not be able to receive both the cashback and the entry into our prize draw; specifically, you should click through to the retailer's website from their profile on the "Browse Retailers" page and then complete your purchase in the same session (ie. without leaving the retailer's website), otherwise you may not be entered into our prize draw. As a general rule, if you don't see the Lucky Checkout widget and if you didn't click straight through from our site when you make a purchase, then you probably won't be entered into our prize draw.
 
In addition, if you enter a voucher or promo code at the checkout, you may not be entered into our prize draw if that voucher was not given to you directly by us or the retailer.

When is the draw for each month's sweepstake held?

A particular month's sweepstake draw is held at or around noon on the first Tuesday that is at least 14 days after the end of the month. Note that we do not hold the draw immediately after entries close at the end of the month so that you have time to enter any returns you may have made.
 
Please remember that you are required to tell us if you have returned any of your participating purchases, which you can do by selecting the "My Sweepstakes" option in the "My Lucky Checkout" menu.

Why is there a delay between the end of the month and the sweepstake draw being held?

We do not hold the draw immediately after entries close at the end of every month because we need to leave you time to enter any returns you may have made.
 
Please remember that you are required to tell us if you have returned any of your participating purchases, which you can do by selecting the "My Sweepstakes" option in the "My Lucky Checkout" menu.

What happens when I win a prize?

Well first of all, congratulations!
 
When you win a prize, the first thing we will do is notify you via email and ask you to enter some banking and personal details, also asking you to email us a scanned (or photographed) copy of your passport or driving licence, along with a recent copy of a utility bill. This is so that we are able to issue you with payment for your prize, and so that we can confirm that you are eligible to be entered into our prize draws (since currently only UK residents are eligible to be entered into our prize draws). If you prefer you can post your passport/driving license and utility bill to "Lucky Checkout (UK) Ltd, International House, 124 Cromwell Road, London SW7 4ET", although please be sure to include a stamped addressed envelope so that we are able to send them back to you.
 
As soon as all the necessary information has been received and verified, we will issue you with your prize by making a BACS payment to your bank account.
 
Finally, we will also ask you to take a "selfie" of yourself and send that to us, which will be used in the announcement on our website that you were the winner of that month's prize draw. Beyond that, all you need to do is sit back and plan how you're going to spend your winnings!

Why does an order I made not appear under "My Sweepstakes"?

If you made the order within the last few minutes then please be aware that orders may not appear in your list of orders for up to 15 minutes. This is perfectly normal and does not indicate that your order has not been processed, please be patient and check again later.
 
However if a purchase still does not appear under "My Sweepstakes", then this means that the retailer has cancelled the order for some reason. In that case, please contact the retailer quoting the order number, order amount and date, and they should be able to resolve the issue for you.

Why does my order appear to have been moved to a different sweepstake?

This is normally because the retailer has a long return period and they have stipulated that your order should not be entered into a sweepstake prize draw until they know that the item has not been returned.
 
In most cases, items will have been returned before the prize draw takes place, but if the retailer's return period is particularly long then they may be concerned about purchases being returned after the prize draw has taken place; in that case, we give the retailer the option to instruct us not to enter your purchase into our prize draw until they know that the order is not going to be returned.
 
What may therefore happen is that your purchase is initially added to the current sweepstake when the order is first made (so that you are still able to see that your order has been logged on our system), but when the current sweepstake rolls over to the next sweepstake in the series at the end of the month, your order would be moved to the next month's prize draw if the draw would otherwise take place while you were still able to return the goods purchased.
 
Regardless of the retailer's return period, your order may also be moved to next month's prize draw if the retailer has not confirmed your order by the time the draw is held.
 
Please note that moving your order to a different sweepstake does not mean that you will lose out in any way, rather it merely means that you might have to wait a little longer before your order gets added to our prize draw.

Why can't I find an order when I enter the date of the order in the search box?

The most likely reason for not being able to find a particular order is because you are searching the wrong sweepstake. Please check the sweepstake dates at the top of the page, then click on the "<" and ">" arrows to advance to the previous or next sweepstake in the series.
 
Please remember that if the retailer has a long return period, then they may have stipulated that your order should not be entered into a sweepstake prize draw until they know that the item has not been returned. In this case, your order may have been moved to the next sweepstake in the series when the sweepstake rolled over at the end of the month, so please search that sweepstake too.

Can Northern Ireland residents send in a postcard to be entered into a sweepstake?

Yes, as required by the Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Northern Ireland) Order 1985, Northern Ireland residents will receive one entry into the current prize draw if they write their name, postal address, email address and Lucky Checkout membership number onto a postcard and send it to: Lucky Checkout (UK) Ltd, International House, 124 Cromwell Road, London SW7 4ET.
